John Paul Jones Arena tickets & upcoming events

If you’ve ever been to Virginia’s crown jewel for live events, you know John Paul Jones Arena isn’t just your average sports or concert venue. It’s a place where memories are made, whether it’s UVA basketball games that get your heart pounding or epic concerts that light up the night. The arena has hosted some pretty big moments, like the 2017 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament opening rounds, where the energy was electric and you could really feel the passion for college sports. Walking in, you’re greeted by the Cavaliers mascot, who’s always down to pose for a quick selfie or hype up the crowd. Finding your seat? Row 145 is perfect for easy chat with staff, while Area 163 offers a killer view of the whole arena, which honestly makes you appreciate how well they’ve designed the space. Before the show kicks off, I always recommend arriving early, grab a snack, soak in the atmosphere, maybe even take a scenic drive along Route 29 through those charming rural stretches before hitting the bustling city. Whether you’re here for a basketball game or an electrifying concert, the arena’s got something for everyone. And hey, if you’re into photography, the spotlights, the crowd, the stage, there are plenty of chances to snap some memorable shots. With a jam-packed calendar covering everything from Heart’s classic rock to Disney’s Descendants and even quirky acts like Weird Al Yankovic, it’s clear this place really does it all. So, gather your friends, get those tickets, and get ready for an unforgettable experience at John Paul Jones Arena.
